“Without the help I really couldn’t afford to have dogs. They are such good companions and I really don’t know what I’d do without them.”

Caring for a pet can be financially and physically challenging for older adults, but for isolated and lonely seniors pets are companions that help make them feel loved and not so alone. You can help keep older adults and their pets together by donating pet food or making a monetary donation during RSVP’s Annual Pet Food Drive!

Seniors need to be able to take care of and feed their pet companions so they don’t have to give the pet away or give up their own meals to keep their furry friends fed. Last year nearly 150 seniors received help stretching their budget by getting food for their pets—139 dog pals and 172 cat companions. This year our goal is 600 bags!
